Foods That Naturally Give You Fresher Breath
Posted on 11/20/2019 by Dr. Andrew Zeiger
One thing everybody hates is bad breath. Whether it's from morning breath, something you ate or a dental problem, it's all just as bad. However, all is not lost. There are ways which can be used to minimize or completely eradicate bad breath. One of the most effective is ensuring good dental hygiene. That means taking good care of your mouth with some of the best practices in the field such as brushing and flossing. However, on a preventive note, you might want to consider the foods you ingest. Some foods are capable of giving us bad breath while others freshen the mouth, thus eliminating any foul smells. To this end, here are a few that will give you fresher breath: Raw Fruits and VegetablesCrispy veggies and fruits such as pears, apples, cucumbers, and celery are very good at eliminating bad breath. They are also crucial in helping the mouth produce saliva and also assist in eliminating odor-producing bacteria. Since these vegetables and fruits are quite crunchy, they also scrub your teeth thereby removing any food particles the bacteria can use for fuel. Probiotic YogurtYogurt is also another food that can provide you with the fresh breath you need. Probiotic yogurt is filled with good a bacterium that not only helps out your digestive system, but research has also shown that it lowers sulfite compound levels in the mouth. These compounds are the ones responsible for a lot of the bad breath in your mouth. However, ensure that its probiotic yogurt and it doesn't have added sugars since they are a big cause of bad breath and give bacteria in the mouth fuel. WaterPerhaps the most overlooked solution for nasty breath is water. When you drink a good amount of water through the day, you keep the mouth moist and also rinse away any particles from your teeth thereby giving the bacteria in your mouth a lot less to work with. Eating the right foods is crucial for maintaining good oral health. This way, you keep the mouth fresh while still enjoying the health benefits that come with these foods. If you have any questions about foods that can enhance your oral health, don't hesitate to reach out to us today!...
